Korero Kids Playgroup

Every Friday

An open singing group of parents and their young children who learn waiata and Te Reo Maori songs in our cosy foyer in Te Whare Tapere O Waiheke. Every Friday!

Korero Kids on Waiheke (continuing for 2020!)

‘He korero mai i te ngakau’ which roughly translates to “Speaking from the heart”

A community driven playgroup for our tamiriki (children) to learn Te Reo māori through Waiata and kanikani (song and dance). It is for children under 5 to come with their parents for a fun filled morning.

Through the concept of whanaungatanga, sharing ideas and experiences and celebrating te reo together through waiata, our whanau & tamariki will gain a positive sense of ‘who they are’. A fun way to learn our national language and afterwards a shared morning tea together.

Beginners welcome, we are all learning together.

“It is our role as educators to teach young children the foundations of learning. I am very passionate about learning Te Reo Maori and sharing our native language with our tamariki nohinohi (small children)”-Jane Rippingale
