5 Eprisodes of a Live Improvised Soap Opera Presented by Waiheke Comedy and Performed by Quip!
Tuck the kids away and turn off the telly to watch Last Laughs Tuesday Night Comedy debut Waiheke Comedy’s OSTENDERS: a live improvised soap opera series. Performed every Tuesday for five weeks at Artworks Theatre from 28 January to the 25 February, 2020.
OSTENDERS is an improvised on-stage soap opera with a Waiheke setting and dramatic characters that could find themselves in all kinds of crazy situations since the rules of soap opera clearly state anything can happen! True loves torn apart, affairs gone wrong, resurrected characters, dramatic cat fights, bombshell confessions, fortunes destroyed, who’s the daddy – lots could go down on OSTENDERS. Devised by director Oliver Driver (Shortland Street, Filthy Rich) and accompanied with live music by musician Jason Smith, everything is made up on the spot by the improvisers of Quip! to make for a truly unique stage experience.
The OSTENDERS series is performed by Quip!, the performance troupe of Waiheke Comedy. Made up of seasoned local improvisers/actors trained by awesomely talented professionals in the ‘biz, Quip! is equipped (haha!) to make you laugh, cry, chortle and maybe even choke on your drink (in the best way, of course).
